Stop Romanticizing
We’re obsessed with romance.
But we’re rendezvousing with the most toxic behaviours and activities.
We need to stop romanticizing behaviour that isn’t serving us.
When we have love affairs with food that cause us harm, it’s toxic. And it’s sending the wrong message to our brain.
OMGGGGGGGGG this cheesecake is to die for! [eyes rolling back into head]
Ooooooohhh this dessert has been CALLING MY NAME!
Mmmmm I just love a crunchy, salty chip.
I could dive head-first into this bag and eat my way out (okay, this one may be a direct personal quote 😬).
I JUST KNOW that bottle of wine chilling at home is waiting for 5:00 as eagerly as I am. I’m gonna forget this day real quick.
Let’s start looking for redflags in our habits the way we look for them in prospective partners.
We need to become detectives with our health the way we do with google searching someone we’re about to go on a date with.
We have standards for our romantic relationships. So why do we lower our standards so dramatically in our relationship with our health and wellness?
You won’t date a guy who’s shorter than you, but you’ll eat a donut with your morning coffee?
You won’t date a woman because you don’t like her laugh, but you’ll eat an entire meatlovers pizza with a large Coke for dinner?
We are focusing on the wrong things.
Happiness comes from within. Well, the “within” part needs to be healthy!
We aren’t making good choices when we’re lacking in proper nutrition, or when we’re living a sedentary lifestyle.
When we don’t feel good, we start looking for external sources of “happiness”.
We put expectations on romantic partners, or on “comfort food”, or on binging a show, or on excessively shopping. We delusionally believe these things are going to fill the void.
You’re not empty, you’re hungry.
You’re hungry for vitamins and minerals. You’re hungry for movement. You’re hungry for joy. You’re hungry for self-love.
Feed yourself!
When you’re happy and healthy and feeling great, the world changes in the most beautiful way.
Maybe he’s not too short. Maybe her laugh is actually adorable. Maybe you just need to work on you in order to see it. ♥️
